The reusable palm-sized instrument that runs Alveo Sense cartridges and reports results to the app over Bluetooth.

Alveo Sense

Alveo's decentralized molecular testing system, combining a palm-sized Analyzer with a guided smartphone app.

Alveo Sense Poultry Avian Influenza Test

Rapid molecular test detecting Avian Influenza Type A and differentiating H5 and H7 or H9 subtypes in chickens.

Avian Influenza

A highly contagious viral infection of birds that can significantly impact domestic poultry and other animal species.

Avian Influenza Test Accuracy

Validation showed 99 percent or greater positive and negative percent agreement against reference RT-PCR.

Bird Flu Test

The common name for an avian influenza test.

How Fast Are Results

The assay runs in approximately 45 minutes or less, with the full workflow taking under an hour.

Molecular Test

A test that detects a pathogen's genetic material. Alveo Sense uses LAMP with electrical impedance sensing.

On Farm Testing

Running a test at or near the point of sample collection instead of shipping samples to a lab.

PDRC Evaluation

A research use only evaluation of the test on experimentally infected ducks, run by University of Georgia's Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center.

Published Research

The open access, peer-reviewed study documenting development and laboratory validation of the platform.

Quality Control

Lot-level testing at Alveo, plus an internal process control built into every cartridge.

Sensitivity and Specificity

How a test's ability to detect true positives and avoid false positives is measured and reported.
