Alveo Analyzer User Manual

Complete user manual for the Alveo Analyzer covering setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

The Alveo Analyzer User Manual is the full reference for the reusable, handheld Analyzer that powers Alveo Sense testing. It covers everything an operator needs from first use onward: charging and battery management, pairing the device to a smartphone over Bluetooth, running a test, and reading the indicator lights.

It also documents routine care and troubleshooting - approved cleaning agents, what each light state means, how to recover from pairing problems, and the battery thresholds the device enforces before a test can start.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the charging requirements?

The Analyzer is powered by a rechargeable battery, charged via the supplied USB cable and power adapters. A full charge from depleted typically takes up to 4 hours. The device needs roughly 34% battery minimum to start a test; indicator lights signal when charging is needed. Keeping it plugged in during operation is recommended, especially for multiple runs.

‍

How many tests can run on a single charge?

A fully charged Analyzer can run approximately 4–6 tests under typical conditions. The system is designed to prevent starting a new test run if the battery is less than 34% charged to ensure that there is enough power to run the test without interruption.

‍

Can I operate the Analyzer while it’s charging?

Yes, it’s designed to be able to run tests while plugged in. Running tests while charging and/or between runs avoids low-battery interruptions.

‍

How do I clean and maintain it?

At the end of each test or if the Analyzer becomes dirty, clean the outside surface and visible part of the Analyzer port and allow air to dry. Use wipes to disinfect exterior components of the Analyzer. Be careful not to oversaturate or get cleaning solution inside the Analyzer cartridge or USB ports. Do not spray cleaning or disinfectant directly on the Analyzer. In the event that the Analyzer has been used in an environment that may have contributed to surface contamination please use the following cleaning guidelines: Wipe the exterior and opening of the Alveo Analyzer device gently but thoroughly using a 10% Bleach solution and set it to dry for approximately 10 minutes. Do not spray or pour bleach solution directly onto the Alveo Analyzer. Be careful not to oversaturate or get bleach solution inside the Alveo Analyzer device cartridge or USB ports. Wipe the exterior and opening of the Alveo Analyzer device gently but thoroughly using a clean damp water towel and allow it to air dry or dry with a clean dry towel. Do not spray or pour water directly onto the Alveo Analyzer. Be careful not to oversaturate or get water inside the Alveo Analyzer device cartridge or USB Ports. 3. Wipe the exterior and opening of the Alveo Analyzer device gently but thoroughly using a 70% Isopropyl Alcohol solution and allow it to air dry. Do not spray or pour alcohol solution directly onto the Alveo Analyzer. Be careful not to oversaturate or get alcohol solution inside the Alveo Analyzer device cartridge or USB ports. Please refer to the Alveo Analyzer User Manual, D-IFU-000027, provided with your system for additional information.

‍

Does it need calibration?

The Analyzer does not require user calibration. For performance issues, basic troubleshooting (restart or re-pair) is recommended, with Alveo support available if needed.

‍

Can I use it with any smartphone or tablet?

No. Alveo Sense is designed for smartphones on iOS 15+ or Android 13+ with Bluetooth enabled. Tablets and unsupported OS versions are not validated.

‍

The lights on the Analyzer won’t turn on — what do I do?

The battery may be depleted or the device is asleep (occurs after 10 minutes of inactivity). Press the power button next to the charging port; if no lights flash, plug it in to charge.

‍

The Analyzer and phone won’t pair.

Ensure the mobile smart phone devices Bluetooth is on and in range, and that the Analyzer is powered, charged, and ready to pair (indicator lights flashing blue) Solid blue means it’s already paired to a nearby device. Follow the steps in the section “Unpair Analyzer From Mobile Smart Device” in Chapter 5 of the Analyzer Manual to“Forget” all devices. If no lights show, charge it.

‍

The battery is too low to run a test.

The Analyzer needs at least 34% battery to start a test; lights turn yellow below that. It can stay plugged in while running. A fully depleted battery may take up to 75 minutes to reach a test-ready charge.
